Quick to install and simple to operate our manual and automated security barriers suit a range of applications from residential to commercial operations. The barriers can be controlled from a manned security point or by the vehicle occupant, using a wide range of access control systems including proximity cards, radios, tokens, keypads and intercom systems.
These options combined with an induction loop or photocell facilities ensure that the barrier arm will open/close smoothly, safely and efficiently upon activation. The barriers can be locked in the vertical or horizontal position allowing high levels of security and control.

In addition to the installation services of security bollards, at FBS Hörmann we also provide an extensive after sales service. Including service agreements and 24/7 emergency repairs for when breakdowns occur. In order to preserve the effectiveness of your security bollards it is recommended that a service agreement is taken out. Using the skills and technical ability of our network of engineers to carry out maintenance and servicing on a routine basis to guarantee the longevity of your security bollards and the security they provide your premises.
In the event that a breakdown occurs and the security bollards are unable to provide the high level of security promised, our engineers will quickly respond to your emergency call. Attending on site in rapid time to fix your bollards, getting them up and running again, with minimal disruption to your business operations.
Manually operated barriers are an ideal choice to protect unattended or low traffic sites with minimal investment. FBS Barriers are available to suit road widths up to 6m with a standard 76mm diameter boom, and up to 9m with our heavy duty 100mm diameter boom.
As standard, the barriers come with counterweights, an adjustable tip support and expanding anchor bolts. Installation is quick and simple – the barrier can easily be installed by one person and is simply bolted down to a suitable concrete base. Operation is just as simple, the counterweights allow effortless boom movement, and a latch is provided is provided to lock the barrier in either the up or down position with a facility to allow you to fit a padlock.
Automatic barriers have been the most popular barrier in our range due to their smart appearance and ease of set up. The barrier is available to cover carriageways of up to 7m with a plain boom or 5m with a full hi-bar upper and lower skirt. The barriers can be fitted with lower skirts or hi-bar skirts to deter pedestrians from bypassing the barrier and LED boom lights combined with STOP signs add to the visibility of the barrier to drivers in all weather conditions.
Our barriers are suited to the most demanding applications with the highest levels of traffic flow. A complete safety system can be configured, with safety edges to the bottom of plain booms, photocell protection and induction loop vehicle detection combining to ensure that your barriers are fully compliant with the latest safety guidelines.
Our newly designed heavy-duty barrier can cater for road widths of up to 9m. The redesign utilises an enhanced motor and gearbox assembly which has eliminated the need for counterweights. This also removed the trapping hazards associated with traditional counterweight barriers and reduces the space required for installation.
As with all our barriers, a complete safety system can be configured with safety edges to the bottom of plain booms, photocell protection and induction loop vehicle detection. Lower skirts, or hi-bar skirts can be fitted and we offer a complete customisation service with colour combinations and logos available to match your corporate designs.
